MAOTeen to Participate in Give Day

MAOTEEN, INC. JOINS GIVE DAY ON MAY 3, 2016

Tampa, FL (April 13, 2016) – MAOTeen, Inc. is proud to be participating in the third annual Give Day Tampa Bay on May 3, 2016. We encourage everyone to donate in our efforts to lead the nation in both scholarships and mentoring, ensuring future generations have the ability to access higher education and, therefore, the America Dream.

Give Day is a 24-hour, online giving event, designed to increase philanthropy and raise awareness of the amazing work non-profits do.

You do not have to live in the Tampa Bay area to participate. It is our goal to be the first area non-profit to receive a donation from all 50 states. All money raised on this day will provide scholarships to deserving young women all across the country through their participation in MAOTeen.

We are pleased to share two examples of how donations can help MAOTeen.

Michaela McLean, Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen 2014, hopes to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. An Honor Roll student and member of the National Honor Society, Michaela found the process of affording a college education difficult. “I am so happy to announce that I will be attending the University of Alabama! I am so thankful to MAOTeen and the scholarships they provide that helped me attend college.”

Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2011, Lacey Russ, graduated from Oral Roberts University and is now working full time as a Campus Visits Coordinator at ORU. “The last three and a half years at ORU have been more shaping, challenging, rewarding and joyful than I could ever express. I could never say thank you enough to the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization for making it possible for me to graduate debt free.”

In addition to raising awareness of the participating nonprofits, Give Day offers cash prizes to the participants with the most donations, another reason to give on May 3.

“We are excited to be participating in our first Give Day event because we have heard from numerous nonprofits about how beneficial it was to them and their fundraising efforts,” said Kim Parrish, MAOTeen, Inc. President.  We hope to raise $15,000, which will help us tremendously in our work. We also hope to win one of the many cash prizes in the prize pool.”

To increase awareness of our organization, we are holding an open house at our National Headquarters in Tampa from Noon-3pm on Give Day and invite all to visit. We will also be offering several give-a-ways and one-time discount codes to Princess Camp®, Prince Camp and Teens in Training Camp™ for those that make a donation that day, either in person or online.

It’s so simple to give during Give Day. Simply visit www.GiveDay.org on May 3, 2016 and find Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in the list of participating organizations. All donations made are tax-deductible.

Checks may also be sent prior to Give Day and will count toward grand prizes and our overall total. Checks should be made payable to MAOTeen, Inc. “GIVE DAY” must be noted in the memo field. A minimum $25 donation is required. Checks should be mailed to:
